Public affairs analyst, Lawal Olanrewaju, has faulted Kaduna State Governor, Uba Sanni, over his claim that poverty is the root cause of insecurity in northern Nigeria, describing it as a weak excuse for his government’s failure.
Speaking on News Panorama on Royal FM Ilorin, Olanrewaju argued that economic hardship affects all regions of Nigeria, not just the North. He urged the Kaduna government to harness the state’s vast agricultural potential instead of deflecting blame.
Citing the APC’s 2015 campaign promises, Olanrewaju said insecurity, corruption, and lack of diversity have continued to plague the nation, particularly in the North.
He stressed that poor governance, unemployment, and unsustainable economic policies are the real drivers of insecurity.
