Kano State Governor, Abba Kabir Yusuf, has issued a stern warning to contractors handling state projects, declaring that his administration will not condone substandard work, regardless of personal ties or political affiliations.
Governor Yusuf delivered the warning yesterday, shortly after his return from Morocco, where he was honoured with the African Governor of the Year award.
Rather than heading straight to the Government House, the Governor made a series of unscheduled stops to inspect ongoing projects across the city, an action that underscores his hands-on leadership approach.
Clearly dissatisfied with certain aspects of the work, Yusuf ordered that all road projects must meet global standards in both structure and aesthetics.
