President Tinubu Warns Police Against Misconduct, Pledges Continued Support for Reforms

President Bola Tinubu has issued a stern warning to police officers, urging them to desist from intimidating or abusing the very citizens they are paid to protect. He emphasized that officers must uphold the rule of law and reject all forms of misconduct.

The President’s message was delivered at the 2nd Annual IGP’s Award and Commendation Ceremony in Abuja, where he was represented by Senate President Godswill Akpabio.

President Tinubu reaffirmed the Federal Government’s commitment to supporting the police, stating that officers, regardless of rank or deployment, must honor the sacred trust placed in them by the Nigerian people.

He added that the government will continue investing in advanced equipment, technology, training programmes, and improved welfare packages to enhance police effectiveness and morale nationwide.
